Mr. A. E. Flower, an assistant master at Christ's College, has been granted tv/elve months' leave of absence. His place will bo taken by Mr. P. M'Callum, B.Sc., of Canterbury College. It is Mr. Flower's intention to visit the Old Country. ' Mrs. Seddon and her eldest son left for Christchurch last night, to attend the dedication of a belfry and belk at Addington Church, in memory of the late Premier of New Zealand. The bells, which were imported from England, bear tha name Seddon. A Press Association telegram from •Auckland states that Mr. Justice Denniston was entertained by members of the legal profession prior to his departure South. Speeches were wholly eulogistic, and sincere regret was expressed at the judge's approaching departure. Mr. R. 2&. Simpson, general manager in New Zealand of the Phoenix Fire Office, Mi-. W. Slater, the retiring member of the Arbitration Court, eat as a member of the court for the last time yesterday, in Christchurch, and eulogistic references to hia work were made by counsel ongaged in the cases heard. Presentations were made to Mr. Slater by the officers of the court and by Mr. S. Brown, tho employers' representative on tho court. _Mr. Norman T. Raymond, of the staff of Messrs. A. S. Paterson and Co. was presented with a handsome marble clock by his fellow employees last night. Mr. Charles Athya, who made the presentation, congratulated Mr. Raymond on his approaching marriage, and wished him years of happiness. Mr v Shirtcliffe, resident partner, also presented a substantial cheque on behalf of the firm. Bridge, Wellington. Mr. W. Norrey, ex-secretary of the Oriental Football Club, who is leaving Wellington for South Africa, on transfer to tho Capetown branch of the South British Insurance Company, was entertained by his clubmates last night, and presented with a travelling bag in token of their esteem. The presentation was made by Mr. Fred. Roberts, captain of the club, who expressed the good feeling of all local footballers towards Mr. Norrey and their regret at losing him.
