Kirk,, Biologist of tho .Agricultural Department, who controls tho work of fruit inspection, has been authorised by Cabinet to at onco bring into operation (he penal clauses of the Orchard and Cinrden Pests Act. Inspectors .have been instructed to mako strict inspections of all orchards, fruit shops, and fruit auction rooms. Tho department desires all shopkeepers and auctioneers (o know that they are liable, under the Act, if fruit showing either f mijriis disease or insect pests is found in then 1 possession.
