The annual meeting of the National Mutual Lifo Association was held today. > In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the chairman stated that new business during the year had amounted to over three millions sterling. X T ov the first time in the history of the association the interest rat 6 had reached £4 16s 6d per cent., or, deducting taxes, £4 13s 2d on the mean funds. The mortality rate was unusually favourable, while there had been , a reduction in the expenses. A considerablo purchase of Government securities at favourable prices had been effected, arid funds and income had nearly doubled in the last ten years. The report was adopted.
