SWIMMING.

The ThorndoD Amateur Swimming Club held its second 50 yards handicap race at tho Thorndon Baths last evening. The race resulted as follows: — First heat : H. Thomas, 13sec, 1 ; A. W. Smith, ysec, 2 ; P. Aekins, 9sec, 3. Time, 42see. Second heat : A. Adams, 7sec, 1 ; C. Brico, ssec, 2 ; G. M'Kellar, 6sec, 3. Timo, 35 3-sscc. Third heat : C. If. Pownail, 4 sec, 1; K. Nelson, 4sec, 2; E. Picot, ssec, 3. Time, 33 2-sscc. Final: C. K. Powi.-all. Isec, 1; H. Thomson, i3sec, 2; A. W. Smith, Bsec, 3. Time 32 l-ssec. A ftO yards handicap race was also held by the V.M.C.A. Swimming Club last evening. The race was held at the Te Aro Baths, and resulted as .follows : — W. Charters, scr, 1 ; R. Baker, 2sec, 2j G. P. H»aiia, ssec, 3. Time, 33sec.

Messrs. W. H. Morrah and Co. advertise that they will continue their sale of boots and shoes and mercery in thoir rooms, Willis-street-, «.t 2 o'clock to-mor-row.
