The Thorndon Roses' have at last changed hands on the Thorndon green. Tho holders — Chittcy, Reeves, Wiggins, jun., and W. fcjmith (skip)— took them some four or five weeks ago from Mitford, Mason, Leigliton, and M'Kerrow (skip), and havo rclnined them, in spite of strenuous opposition, ever eince. Yesterday afternoon M'Kerrow an dhis original team went for tho trophies again. M'Man.away played as substitute for Reeves in Smith's rink., The challenges went a way at a great pace, and on the seventeenth .head had scored seventeen to their opponents' four. Tho holders then got to work with <i will, and played to such good effect that at tho tw'entielh head Smith had- a lead of two— 23 to 21. At the twenty-first head the teams tied, and on the deciding head M'Kerrow got in four, thus winning the trophies. The contest was watched wilh. keen interest by a large number of Epoctalors. Tho following have been selected to piny for tho Hull Cub against Wellington at Ifntt on •Sa.Hirday : — Calender, l<rackenrid<;e, Wai kins, Barlbw; Hendry, M'Caskill.
