i j MONTHLY MEETING. MR. M'CULLOUPrH'S SUSPENSION. The monthly meeting of the Wellington branch of the ■ Political Labour League was- held in the Trades Hall last night. There was a fait attendance of members.- The president (Mr. Adams) was in the" chair. A letter was read from the Tailors' Union approving the - objects of the league, and intimating that several of the members intended joining • tho league. The suspension of Mr. J. M'Cullough from the railway service was -discussed at some length. The opinion was expressed that the Government had discriminated against Mr. M'Cullough because of his -antagonistic political opinions. The following resolution on f,he suspension was carried : " That this meeting of the Independent Political Labour League protests againat the action of, the Government in discriminating against Mr. J. M'Cullough, of Christchnrch, and urges the workers of the colony to elect only such representatives to Parliament as will honestly endeavour to secure political freedom for all civil servants." It was decided to hold a mass meeting of workers at the corner of Mercei -street to-night to further protest against the suspension of Mr J. M'Cullough, and to generally deal with Labour matters. Mr. J. Thorn, of Christchurch, who is on a visit to Wellington, will be the principal speaker. Mr. Keir Hardle leaves Sydney for Wellington on 7th November, and the meeting decided to co-operate with the Trades Council and other bodies in arranging for a public rereption. There will be a special meeting of the league next Friday to discuss the .proposed Arbitration Amendment Bill, and it is expected that there will be somo sharp criticism of the Bill.

At the Constablo-stroet Congregational Church, tho Rev. W. A. Evans will proaoh to-morrow. A short organ recital will be fiven at the closo of tho evening service y Mr. if. Hayes, and Miss Head will sing a eolo. Messrs. Wardcll Bros., grocers, *Willisstreol, advertise particulars of their prize coupon sjitein, and insert a liet of prizes which are given to cubtomers. Two addresses to ladies will b« given at the Viavi Rooms on Monday and Friday afternoons.
