MIDLAND CRICKET CLUB.
» ANNUAL MEETING. The twenty-fifth annual meeting of tho Midland Cricket Club was hold last night, when the annual report and balancesheet were presented. There was a good attendance of members, Mr. J. Hyams presiding. , Tli3 committee regretted in its report that this was the first occasion in thirteen years the club could not be con.jratulated on retaining the sonior championship. The three, teams altogether played nineteen championship matches, winning cloven and losing eitjht, the junior championship. The club's financial condition was shawti to be buoyant. Seven new lncmbsrs were elected. Tho election of officers resulted, aa follows : — President, , Mr. J- Uuthie ; vice-presi-dents, Dr. Anson, Dr. Newman, Messrs. ii D. Bell, T. G. Macavthy, A, Blacklock, F. Grady, F. Holdsworth, J. £. Staples, S. Diamond, A. Mitchell ; club captain, Mr. A. B. Williams; practice captain, Mr, F. C. Atkinson ; general committee, Messrs. F. C. Atkinson, C. Hickjon, Baxron, Mirrphy, and C. H. ClinUard ; senior match committee, Messrs. Barron, Q. Hickson, and E. F. Upham; junior match committee, Messrs. W. O. Bock, D. Wighton, and Wilkinson ; hon. treasurer, Mr. W. 0. Bock j hon. treasurer, Mr. F. C. Atkin* son ; hon. auditor. Mr. C. Mitchell ; delegates to association, Messrs. C. Hickson, W. Hood, and W. 0. Bock. The delegates wore instmct'ed to oppose motions 1 and 2, Lo be put before the Wellington Cricket Association's annual meeting on Monday evening. A vote of thanks was accorded last yen's oflkcis before the meeting 'concluded. The Management Committee of the Victoria College Cricket Club met la«t evening. It was docided to enter teams for the junior nnd thiid-cbss championships. An effort will be made to obtain a wicket in Kelburne Park for practice during tho season.
! According to our Masterton correspondent a number of dairy factoiiea have disposed of the season's output at lOJd, not caring to risk a fall in prices. One factory in the district however, has «eceived an offer from an English firm of lOJd, and the directors are meeting on Monday next to consider the offer.
