PARLIAMENT.
LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. FRIDAY, 27th SEPTEMBER. Tho second reading of the Animals Protection Bill produced an interesting discussion which is repoited else where in this issue. The Marine Insurance Bill, an adoption of an English Act, was read a second time on the motion of the At-torney-General, without discussion. Tho provisions of the Bill have already been explained in this paper. The Attorney-General moved the second reading of the Methylated Spirit; Bill which passed the House on the 20th inst. There was no discussion. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. Practically the whole of the sitting was devoted to consideration of tho Land and Income Assessment Bill.
