OBITUARY.

(Received August 26, 9.50 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. ilr. Joubort, Exhibition manager, is dead. Mr. Joabsrt was born at Charente, in France, in 1824. He arrived in Sydney in 1841, and in 1844 wes appointed Chancelier to the French Consul at Sydney, which, office ha held until 184S, When he resigned and went to South Australia. Tho year 1851 caw him in Victoria, where fcr two years he was in charge of 'Government w.orks. Iv 1054, when the French took possession of New Caledonia, he went there, and endeavoured to secure attention in Euroj)e to the products uf Wife new col« ony, and to the Biigar culture of New South Wales and Queensland. He became a member of tho Agricultural Society of- New South Waljs, »nd as Secretary did excellent ,vork.
