LARGE GRASS FIRE.
[DV TEI.EGIIArU.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. The largest grass flro near Christchurch for sixteen years occurred on Sunday, and it \va3 tho largest ever known on the Cashmere Hills. In twelve hours two thousand acres of grass and tussock country was swept by lire, leaving a blarkoncd wasto. Tho fire was confined to two owners of proce rr — the Cashmoro Estato and G. 1. No buildings wcro burnt, and only a few sheep wcro destroyed. Tho loss of feed is very great.
