DISEASE IN CHICAGO. LARGE NUMBER OF CASES REPORTED. SOCIAL GATHERINGS SUSPENDED. [BY TELTORAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received February 2, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, Ist February. Fifteen thousand cases of scarlet fever, diphtheriu, and measles have been reported in Chicago. Social gatherings have been largely suspended in consequence of the outbreak.
