A BOER CANDIDATE ON THE LABOUR QUESTION. Upsess association.! (Received January 5, 8.44 a.m.) CAPETOWN, 4th January. The Boer Leader, Van Blommenstcin, opposing Mr. A. Bailey for the Krugeisdorp seat, does not favour the immediate repatriation of Chinese. He con> Biders tho Imperial Government's control over the natives an obstacle to such legislation as would .ensure labour from native sources. [Mr. Abe Bailey, who is opposing Mr. Van Blommcnstein, is the well-known mining magnate. Ho was formerly member for Victoria West in tha Cape House of Assembly, but resigned some three years ago in order to enter politics in the Tamovaal. Mr. Bailey took the last South African cricket team to England at his own expense. He is reputed to bo worth between eight and nine millions of money.]
