Large sales by needy farmers i have depressed the market to the extent of od per quarter. Tho shipping of American wheat is weak. Cargoes are dull. Australian, 29s 4jd; there is no enquiry for on pasaagfe cargoes. A shipment of South Australian June shipment is offering at 30s 6d, August 30s 9d; Australian spot, neglected, nominally 31s to 31s 6d; New Zealand, supplies exhausted. Flour is flat. Australian 22s 6d; holders are pressing sales. Butter is very firm. Danish is unchanged. New season Australian butter is excellent. Choicest unsalted is quoted at 116s to 120s ; salted, 112s to 116s ; old Now Zealand, 114s. Sugar. — Tho market is steady. German beet, 88deg., 4d higher, at 9s lOd; first mark, granulated, f.o.b.
