PERSONAL MATTERS.
« Mr. J. W. Foreman, of Taranaki, has been re-elected chairman of the directorate of the National Dairy Association (North Island). 'Mr. S. Saunders, editor of the Lyttelton Times, Mr. Mark Cohen, editor, of the Dunedin Star, and Mr. H. Mitchell, chief of the Lyttelton Times reporting staff, are on a visit to Wellington in connection with the funeral of the late Mr. Seddon. On the first day of next month Messrs. Fred Pirani and Co. are to .take possession of the Feilding Star. Mr. T. Hastings, who was on Air. Pirani's staff in Palmerston North and in Petone, is a member of tho proprietary of the Star, and is to take charge of the commercial department. Mr. Hastings recently resigned his seat on the Petone Borough Council. Mr. Edgar Wylie, hon. secretary of the New Zealand Rugby Union, has handed in his resignation as he is unable to devote the necessary time to tho affairs of the union. It is understood that Mr. Wylie is to be asked to reconsider his determination, and that arrangements will be made whereby he) will be able to continue to hold the position.
