Queen 7*7 * Wharf, at 9.30 p.m. The vessel left Sydney at 1.45 p.m. on Saturday, and cleared tlie heads at 2JO. She passed Farewell Spit at 10.40 yesterday morning, and arrived as above. The Union Company advise that the Mapouxika arrived at Westport at 11 o'clock last night, and sailed for Greymouth at midnight. She will work Westport to-morrow, and leave Nelson for Wellington at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, arriving here about 7 p.m. Advice received from Sydney by the Union Company states that the steamer Maheno, which made a fast passage from Vancouver, delivered her mails three days in advance ol the schedule time. The Bosamond sailed from the Grey at 10 o'clock this morning for Greymouth. The barque Hassa, now on her way to Wellington from Sydney with a cargo of ooal, is to proceed to Warrnambool with a. load of timber after discharging at this port. The Haupiri Is expected to leave Gftborne at & o'clock this evening for Napier and Wellington. Hie Kini arrived at Westport at 2 o'clock this morning, and it is hoped to despatch her for Wellington to-morrow morning. It has been decided thtit Captain W. J. Kewton is to be appointed to the command of the new steamer Atua, and will take her over from Captain Watson at Sydney about the 20th July. The ship Dalcarnie, now at Dunedin, is expected to leave for Wellington to-morrow or Saturday. The scow Advance is expected to leave Port Chalmers for Tautuku to-day or Friday to load a cargo of timber for Wellington. The barque Jessie Craig, now at Melbourne, fc to proceed on to Newcastle to load a cargo of coal for Mr. S. Brown. The barque Jome* Craig, now on her way W Wellington from Newcastle, has a cargo of 1020 ton* of coal consigned to Mr, S. Brown.
