UTIKU RAILWAY STATION.
TO THE EDITOB Sir, — Some time ago the residents of Utiku agitated for a railway station and a stationmaster, both of which were then badly needed, with the result of only an extra porter being 6ent. Since then the town has rapidly increased, but still the email siding remains. If the department went into figures it would find that Utiku can bonst of exporting three tunes as much timber, etc., as Taihape, and four tunes as much as Hunterville and Mangaweka put together ; yet these towns have up-to-date stations. Why ia Utiku left in this J state? I trust some more able pen will take this matter up, as a township with three times as much output as any other on the line should have more considera- \ tion. — I am, etc., [ INCONVENIENCED RESD3ENT. 16th June.
