FIRES AT DUNEDIN.

4 , [BY TELEGRAPH. — PISEBS ASSOCIATION,? DUNEDIN, 18th June. The fire brigade were called out for two fires last night. One was in a small cottage behind the Knox Church Sundayschool building, occupied by an old man, who was so drunk that he had to be pulled out of tho building, and was at once locked up. This morning as the engine- was proceeding to a fire in Wil-liam-street the horses swerved in turning the corner of Princes and High-streets, and crashed into a building on the corner with such force that one of the horses^ was killed. The firemen on the carriage were hurled out on the footpath and several severely cut and bruised. The worst sufferers n r ere Foreman Carrington and Juno, driver. After tho injuries of the men had been attended to they were sent to their homes, and no serious reBults are anticipated.
