SERVICES IN OTHER PLACES.
[BT TKLEOHArH — I'BKSi ASSOCIATION ( AUCKLAND, 17th June. References were made in the churches to-day to Mr. Seddon'a death. Three memorial services are announced for the day of the funeral — official military service, conducted by the Anglican Bishop at St. Matthew's; United Nonconformist service at the Baptist Tabernacle, and a Masonic service at the Pittstreet Methodist Church. NELSON, 17th June^ A service in memory of the late Premier in the form of a mass meeting was held at 10.15 this morning at the foot of the Cathedral steps, Main-street There was a very large concourse oi people. No addresses were given. Th« Garrison Bund played uhe "Dead March' in "Saul" and "Garland of Flowers.' The Citizens' Band played Southwell'* "Funeral Maroh." The scene was verj impressive, the populace standing bareheaded. The Mayor, councillors, and members of the various local bodies were present. Appreciative references were made at all the churches. I WESTPORT, 17tb Juno. This morning the City Band, ] Battery, the School Cadets^ and a larg« gathering of the public assembled in Victoria, Square. There an impressive service in connection with >the death ol Mr. Seddon was conducted. In all the churches and at the Salvation Armj Citadel feeling references , were made tc the Premier's death, and sympathy expressed with the bereaved family. ASHBURTON, 17th June. Memorial services for the late Premiei were held in all the churches. REFERENCES IN AUSTRALIA. SYDNEY, 17th June. Special references to Mr. Seddon's death were made to-day in many churches throughout the Commonwealth, laudatory of his work as an Empire statesman and a humanitarian. SERVICE AT ST. PAUL'S. LONDON, 16th June. A memorial service in connection with Mr. Seddon's death is to be held in St. Paul's Cathedral at noon on Tuesday next.
