Wind. — Strong to gale from between west and south And south-east northward of East Cape, Tauianga, and Munukau ; heavy gjjcs from came direction between East Cupe and CaStlepoint; strong to moderate southerly elsewhere. Barometer. — Rise everywhere, especially on east coast between Castlepoint and East Cape. Sea. — Heary on eastern coast between Castlepoint and "East Cape, dea easing on east coast of South Island. Moderate elsewhere. Tides. — Good on east coast of South bland; high between. Cape Campbell and East Cape; good thence northward; moderate on all western coast. Rain is probable northward of Napier, Taupo, and Raglan, and frost- to-night in all other parts of the country. Warning signal for southerly gale is exhibited at Cape Campbell, Last Cspe, and Nugget Point. SYNOPSIS OP LABT 24 HOURS. Rising barometer northward of East Cape and Raglan; little movement, thence to Napier, and it has risen even-where else, especially in the southern district. There has been a. hard Southerly gate on the east coast from Castlepoint southward generally, with rain, but there have been moderate westerly winds in the northern districts.
