MESSAGES OF SYMPATHY. WORLD-WIDE TRIBUTES.
Messages of condolence continue to be received in hundreds by the deceased statesman's family and "" the Hon. Mr. Hall-Jones every day. From the Prince of Wales down to workmen telegrams of condolenco have come ; all classes have united in expressing their sorrow at the country's loss "The council and fellows of the Royal Colonial Institute deplore the death of the Right Honourable R. J. Seddon, who has always so thoroughly supported the unity of the Umpire, and desire to convey to Mrs. Seddon and family and the people of New Zealand their deepest sympathy." Other messages include telegrams from the Protestant Alliance Friendly Society of Victoria, the citizens of Ipswich, the Australian Natives' Association, the Victorian branch of the Seamen's Union, the Board of Directors of the Waihi Goldmining Company, and the London Board of Directors of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, who regretted "the death of the eminent statesman and great New Zealand leader." Several messages have also been received from different branches of tho Institute" of Marine Engineers.
