The following are the latest quotations for Government securities with a comparison of those ruling last week :—

MONEY MARKET. The market rate of discount for best three months' bills is 4 lower, at 3g per cent. The Bank of England rate is 4 per cent., as against 34 per cent, on 3rd May. COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUCE. Wheat. Large shipments and lower prices of Russian and Argentine wheat havo caused dullness in tho English markets, and there is a cessation of speculation. Forward cargoes and fine weather have dulled the Continental markets; indifferent crop accounts have kept tho American markets firm. Cargoes by Hinemoa sold at 30s, by Archibald Rus3ell 29s 9d, Manor 30s 3d, and 6000 quarters South Australian June-July shipment 31s; holders asicing 31s 9d; for Victorian afloat 30s 3d, and 30s 6d for New South Wales. The enquiry is limited. Australian, spot, 32s 6d; New Zealand exhausted. Flour is slow of sale. Australian is freely offered at 22s 3d to 22s 6d in London, and 23s 9d in Glasgow. There is no-1-Jiing doing in freights. Butter is firm. Danish, 110s to 112s. Hot weather is checking the demand for colonial, buyers preferring fresher made Continental, but tho moderate supplies of colonial has prevented reduction in prices. Sugar.— German beet, 88deg., 2d lower, at 8s; first mark granulated, f.o.b. Hamburg, Id lower, at 10s- 3d per cwt. Bradford Tops.— The market is quiet, but prices are firm and unchanged. THE METAL MARKETS. Copper.— Spot, 17s 6d higher, at £85 17s 6d; three months', 7s 6d higher, at £84 17s 6d per ton. Tin.— Spot, 5s higher, at £182; threo months', 2s 6d lower, at £181 2s 6d per ton. Pig-iron, Is higher, at 50s 6d per ton. Spelter, £27 12a 6d per ton. Lead, 3s 9d higher, at £17 per ton. Silver, 2s s|d per ounce. WOOL, SKIN, ANT* HIDE SALES. Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Co. report: — Wo offered a catalogue of 1500 skins, 25 bales wool, and about 50 hides. The wool was mostly crutchings, which were eagerly competed for at satisfactory prices, and there was also a strong demand for all skin lots, at slightly advanced prices. Hides wero on the whole easier than at last sale, but tho offerings were of inferior quality. Wo quote: — WoolStragglers' fleece, 9Jd to' 10id per lb; pieces and bellies, 6£d to 8d per lb; crutchings, clean and light, BJd to 9id per lb; crutchings, inferior to medium, 7d to Bid per lb. Skins — Merino and halfbred, 9Jd to 104 d; crossbred, medium to fine, lOd to lO^d per lb; crossbred, coarse, 9id to 10id per lb; crossbred, inferior, pelted, BJd to 10id Der lb; lambs, sound pelts, 7Jd to 10id per lb; lambs, inferior, B|d to 9sd per ib; green and damp skins, short, 5s 6d to 6s 6d each; green and damn skins, woolly, 7s 6d to 8s 8d each. Hides — Ox and cow, medium, sgd to s?d per lb; damaged hides, 4Ad to 42d per lb; calf, medium, 52d to 61d per lb. Tallow— Casks, 23s 3d por cwt. Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., report: — We offered 35 bales wool, 1700 skins, 350 hides, and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. Prices for wool remained steady; crutchings are coming forward more freely and sell at high prices. Wo quote: — Coarse crossbred, 9£d to lOJd per lb* inferior and logstained, B£d to 9Jd per lb ; pieces and bellies, 7d to 73d per lb; locks,' 3d to 5d per lb; crutchingg, superior, B£d to 9Jd per lb; crutchinga, good, 7d to Bid por Ib ; crutchings, seed/ and inferior, 5Jd to sjd por lb. Skins— There is no change to record, all lots selling at full rates. Merinos, 9d to 9id per lb; fine crossbreds, 9d to 10id per- lb; coarse, 9tl to lOd per lb; dead skins, 8d to Bid per lb; short wools, Bid to 9Jd per lb; woolly skins, green, 7s to 9s; woolly lambslnnb, green, 5s 6d to 6* 6d ; lambs' pelts, 3s to 4s sd. Tallow— Casks, 225; tins, 17s 3d; sacks, 13s 9d. Horsehair, Is 6d £o 2s per lb. Horns, 7s to 19s 3d per 100. Hides were easier, and fell on sight:— Ox hides, s£d to 6?d per lb; cow hides, sid to sgd per lb; cut and slippy hides, Id to 5s per lb; calfskins, 5d to 6gd per lb. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report :— Prices for_ wool wore about the same as last series, but good sound skins were higher by id, and well-conditioned cow hides advanced id. Ox hides declined in valuo about id. We quote :— Wool— Crutchings, 7Jd; crossbred, 9d to 9id; lambs, 9id per lb.
