NEW ZEALAND-NEW CALEDONIA FIJI-COOK ISLANDS STEAM SE& VICE. npiENDERS aro invited by tho New Zea3. land Government for a Stoam Service New Zealand lo Cook Islands, via Norfolk Island, Now Caledonia, New Hebrides, Fiji, Tonga, and Niuo. CONDITIONS : Tenders to provide for (a) Four-weekly service. (b) Six-weekly service. Loading and diecharging in New Zealand at Auckland and Wellington, Wei-, lington to be tho terminal port and Auckland to be the final port of departure in New Zealand. Contract to be for a period of one, two, or threo years, at Government's option. Steamers after departure 'from Now Zealand to call at Norfolk Island, Noumea, Port Vila, Suva, Tonga, Niue, and Raratonga, thence to Wollington, New Zealand direct. Steamers to bo not less than 1400 tons rtobs register, and to V>o able to load and discharge cargo at ports specified abovo. Steamers to have suitable space' on board for carriage of H.M. mails. Steamers to" have accommodation to carry dairy and farm produce to port of destination in good order- and condition, and if required to be able to carry live stock to Norfolk. Island, Noumea, or New Hebrides. •Tenderers to state rates of freight and passenger money required between all ports specified. No tender will, however, bo entertained if rates of freight or passage money are in 'excess of thoEe ruling from Sydney to specified ports at tho present time. Tenderers to make their schedule of freights on an equal basis from the ports of Auckland and _Wellington. Tenderers to state what period of time before berthing the first steamer in New Zealand ; bucW time to count from the date of acceptance of the tender. Tenderers ra's requested to state the amounts of subsidy required per annum for either of t&p abovo services, and on a basis of one, two and three years' contract. A tender and us acceptance are to be considered the establishment of a contract binding on both sides, the cardinal points to be consistent with this advertisement, the tender and its acceptance, Should , any dispute arise over minor pointe, tho matter in dispute Bhall bo referred to arbitration. A deposit of £1000 is to accompany each tender, and in case of a- successful tenderer to be returned upon completion of contract and on tho lodgment of a satisfactory bond. Marked, written, or telegraphic tenders addressed to tho Secretary, for Industries and Commerce, Wellington, New Zealand, will be received up to and including tho 15th day of JULY, 1906.
