A LODGER BURNED TO DEATH. [BT TEtEQEAPH. — PKESS ASSOCIATION 1 . J DUNEDIN, This Day. M'Cann's Hotel at Tapanui was buined to the ground an six o'clock this morning. When the fire was discovered a light wind was blowing, but ib calmed 'down. It is feared that one of the lodgbxs, Father M'Grath has been burned: to death, as he cannot be found. A small shop adjoining, owned by Miss Mackenzie, dressmaker, was also destroyed, but the stock was saved. M'Cann is a heavy loser, as the insur- j ances are light. ' Later. .
