In the Divorce Conrt to-d»y- a. nuddlo aged' woman named Charlotte Cume petitioned for a divorce from her husband, George Currie, upon grounds of persistent cruelty and failure to support. Charlotte Currie, who described herself as a, school mistress, residing at Huirangi, Taranaki, said she was married to a-espondent in September, 1884, at thfi Registrar's Office, Auckland. She mar ried him against her parents' wishes, and without tiheir consent, respondent was a farmer, and 6ue went to live with him at Waiuku. She had four children. Petitioner said her husband attended all raco meetings in tjhe country, and was constantly away from home. Continuing, petitioner said her husband's conduct to her was unkind and cruel, especially* when they were alone.
