After Cabinet had given consideration to the prop6sals for preference between New Zealand and the Commonwealth, Mr. Deakin and Sir W. J. Lyne further conferred with Mr. Seddon this morning. The whole scheme was. carefully gone through. It was found necessary to refer the proposals back to a special meeting of Cabinet to be held after the opening of Parliament. Mr. Seddon, in consequence, has deterred his departure for Sydney till to-morrow. (Received June 8, 9.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day.
