The estates of 45 persons were placed in tho hands of the Public Trustee for administration during May. The annual sitting of tho Colonial Council of the Farmers' Union is to open in the head office, Wellington, on tho 10th July. The committee of heads of Government departments appointed to draw up a Civil Servico classification schema will bring its labours to a close next week. Interest in the Eastbourne election is shown by the fact that 367 out of 493 electors on the roll voted, Mr. Bolton, the successful candidate for the Mayoralty, polled 225 votes. The rules for tho examination of masters and mates under the Shipping and Seamen Act aro gazetted this Week. The resignation of Mr. V. A. Banks, M.R.C.V.S., as an inspector under the 'Slaughtering and Inspection Act is gazetted. The Napier Borough Council has decided to instruct its delegate to the Municipal Conference in Wellington next month to movo for an alteration of thd present system of auditing borough accounts, The Eketfthuna Domain has been vested in Messrs. Francis O. Tumor, P. D, Felling, E. O. yon Rcden, A. H. Herbert, and A. H. Vilo. The first meeting of tbo board will bo held on tho 30th iiist. Our premises will be open all day tomorrow (Saturday).
