A fire occurred at Taylorville about 8 o'clock this evening, and resulted in the destruction of shops occupied by Studley (bootmaker) and Philpott (grocer). Studley's stock was insured for £160 in the Liverpool, London, and Globe, and £150 Mn tho New Zealand Insurance Office.
