The Social Democratic Federation Conference now sitting at Bradford passed a resolution declining to affiliate with the Labour Representation Committee until tho latter clearly accepts' the principles of Socialism. , Lady Warwick is a well-known leader of society, and has be^n identified with many public movements. SLe is a Poor Law -Guardian, member ofk the Social Democratic Federation, Picsident of the Essex Needlework Guild, and of many other societies. Her philanthropy has taken shape in various. practical ways. She founded a college in Warwickshire for training daughters of professional man in horticulture, dairy, bee and poultry keeping, etc. On her Essex estate she founded a technical school for boys and girls of the rural districts of the country; at Warwick she established a home for seventeen crippled children, and in eleh county she has organised a complete staff for the welfare of tho poor and numng of the sick. She is an expert horsewoman, and liunt3 with tho Warwickshire and Essex hounds. The Countcss'3 aid to the Socialists in the election campaign was almost wasted, as in nearly every caso they failed to secure a return.
