AUCKLAND HARBOUR.
[H7 TBLEOIIAPH. — PBESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, 20th March. At a meeting of the Harbour Board to-day tenders were opened for the construction in ferro-eoncrcte of part of Queen-street Wharf, together with a new ferry jetty. Four tenders were received. The engineer's estimate was £81,000, without allowing for increased cost of steel. Following are the amounts of the tenders: — Gummow and Forrest, £118,331 ; M'Lean and Sons, £84,487 ; Ferro Concrete Company, £82,296 ; Ncwson and Colson, £79,774. The tenders were rofoned to the Works and Tariff Committee. — —
