INSURANCE COMPANIES' LOSSES. [PRESS ABSOCtATION.I SYDNEY, 23rd February. The Austral Timber Company estimates its losses by tho timber-yard fires at from £8000 to £10,000. The stock of timber consumed—mostly New Zealand white pine—totalled one and a halt million feet. The insurance* are as follows; — Außtral Timber Compnnv, £6000 in the New Zealand Office ; Allan Taylor £3500 In tho National of New Zealand ; Mackenzie. £16,000 (Including £6750 in tho Now Zealand nnd £2500 in tho South British). ' CAUSE OF THE FIRE UNKNOWN. (Received February 24, 9.66 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day, The origin of the fire at Mackenzie's timber-ynrd Is a mystery. Tho debris is still burning.
