WHEREAS a requisition in writing, Figned by a majority of the occupiera of all the tobacconists and hairdressers' shops in tho City of Wellington, lias been forwarded to me, desiring that all bucli shops in the city shall bo closed at 8 o'clock p.m. every day, except Wednosdays and Saturdays, when the hour shallbe at 1 o'clock p.m. on Wednesdays (tho weekly half-holiday) and at 10.30 p m. on Saturdays: And whereas tho Wellington City Council has certified that 'the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the orcupiers of all tho tobacconists and haiidressers' shops within the city : Now, therefore, I, Richard John Scddon, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of Seclion 21 of' "The Shops and Offices Act, 1904," and Section 5 of "The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905," do hereby direct that from and after the Ist day of January, 'l9o6, all tobacconists and hairdressers' shops in the City of Wellington shall be clos6d in accordance with such requisition..
