"Australian ■weather" was the phrase used in describing to-day's conditions in Wellington, the heat being exceptional. Hot weather prevailed throughout the colony. The highest record at 9 a.m. was 74deg. at Foxton, Blenheim, and Kaikoura. At the four centres the temperatures were: — At Auckland*7ldeg., Wellington 72deg., Christchurch 73deg., Dunedin 63deg. Captain Edwin predicts the probability of rain along the west coast of the South Island, and northward of Foxton and the East Coa«t. Lyle (Mr. Wilford), who sought a dissolution oil his marriage with Georgina Lyle, on ground of adultery with Allan Ward, a tailor. The parties wire married in January, 1902, and they liyjed\at Dupedin, Wellington, and Petope. From the latter place respondent went away to Greytown North,- from which place she wrote a letter to petitioner, in which she admitted having committed adultery with Ward. After having heard evidence his Honour granted a decree nisi, with costs on the lowest scale. Messrs. Harcourt and Co. direct attention to the following auction sales of city properties to bo hold by them at their new rooms, Lambton-quay. Borghetti, eyo specialist, intimates that he has removed his consulting rooms from his residence, Kent-tcrraoo, to Hoby's Buildings, Willis-street.
