Crowds thronged the streets at Sir 'Henry Irving's funeral, and there was a splendid choral service in Westminster Abbey. Trumpets and drums joined in the performances of Sir S. C. Mackenzie's march from his music for " Coriolanus," composed -when the play was produced by Sir Henry Irving. Fifty thousand persons applied for admission to the Abbey, but only twelve hundred tickets have been allotted.
