A representative game between Wairarapj. and Wellington was played nt Masterton on Saturday. A fast, interesting, and close game - resulted, and when the final spell was finished Wairarapa wtiB relumed tho winner by tho barest of possible margins, the scores being s Wairarapa 6 goals 14 behinds (43 points), Wellington 6 goals 7 behinds (42 points). Wellington began well, and at the end of the second quarter had scored 4 goals 4 behinds to Wairarapa's 10 behinds. The country team played well together in tho third quarter, and kicked three goals. Wellington began tho last spell two points in arrear, and only succeeded in notching one behind. Mr. Thomson was umpire.
