BOWLING.
NORTH ISLAND TOURNAMENT. Tho Council of tho Northern Bowling Association recently issued a circular to the affiliated clubs with the object of ascertaining their views upon tho form of play at the annual tournament, which is to commence on Blh January. The replies received show that nearly all the clubs arc in favour of playing as at the last Auckland Tournament, viz., that intorclu. matches limited to two rinks from each club should be divided into convenient sections in order to curtail play on the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. That plan will therefore be followed. It has also been decided that tho Pairs and Singles are to be played concurrently with the club matches, and to bo open to playeis not engaged in the club matches. Thursday is to be devoted to finals, ond Friday to tho Noith v. South match or other matches which may bo lequired. The Secretary (Mr J. H. Menliplay) has been instructed to get an idea as to what representatives arc likely to come from the South for the inter-Lslnnd match. The idea is to have three matches in connection with that contest; best two out of thre%-
