Th© market rate of discount for best three months' bills is 13>16ths higher, at 2i per cent. The Bank of England rate is 3 per cent., as against 2£ per cent, on 7th September. COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUCE. Wheat. — The English market is quiot. It has recovered Is por quarter, owing to less pressure to sell home-grown. The Continental markets are dull; the French is dearer owing to rain retarding the harvest; the American is firm. Cargoes are noglected; 32s 9d to 33s is asked for shipments afloat; no demand for spot. Australian, nominal, 32s 9d; New Zealand, long berry 29s to 30s, short berry 28s. Flour is dull, owing to tho_ competition of home-giown. Australian is quoted in London at 22s 9d to 235, Glasgow 24s to 24s 3d, Parcels on passage are offered at 225.
