The market rate of discount for best three mouths' bills is i higher, at 1 15-16 per cent. The Bank of England rato is 24 per cent., as against 3 per cent, on 9th March. COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUCE. Wheat.— -Despite sensational reports of damage to crops in Russia and America, the European markets are quiet, with a rather easier tendency. French harvesting prospects aro favourable. Cargoes are dull, but off coast is a shade firmer. Two cargoes have sold at 325, and buyers are now offering 32s 3d for August-September shipment ; Australian, spot, small supp?y, 33s 6d to 345. The American visible supply east of the Rockies, according to "Bradstreet's" estimate, is 22,312,0~00 bushels. Flour. — The market is dull. "Patents" are quoted in London at 23s 6d, and in Glasgow at 24s 6d to 255. The butter market iB firm, but prices are unchanged. Saltless Canadian is at 109 ato 110s. Sugar.— German beet, 88deg., Id higher, at IDs Id ; first mark granulated, f.o.b. Hamburg, 3d higher, at 12s 6d per cwt. Bradford Tops. — Business is improving ; 40'b are quoted at 16d, 46's 18d, common 60's 25d, and super 60's 26d (unchanged). THE METAL MARKETS. Copper — Spot, £69 to £69 5s (compared with £68 Us 3d last week). Tin— Spot, £149 15s to £149 17s 6d (£l5O 153 last week) ; three months, £148 to £148 10s (£149. last week). Pig iron— Bd higher, at 46s lid per ton. Spelter— £24 7s 6d to £24 10s per ton. Lead 2s 6d lower at £13 17s 6d per ton. Imports 19,057 tons (including 4657 tons Australian) exports 4144- tons. Silver, 2s 3 5-16 d per oz. Messrs. Abraham and Williams report that at their eale of wool, skins, hides, and tallow at Palmerstoh yesterday they offered • 1500 skins, 20 bales and 40 bag lots of wool, 420 hides, and a few casks and odd lots of tallow.
