Sir, — A paragraph appearing in your issue of yesterday, ond emanating from fhe Coachworkers' Union, objecting to the recent favourable report on the coachbuilding trade which appeared in the Labour Journal, states "that only three men in the trade have boen working full time since Ist May." While the statement may be technically correct, it is not true to facts. In our factory, where wo employ at present (in our slack season) over 20 hands, not including members of the firm or office staff, we have since January only reduced our staff by one journeyman. What gives colour to Mr. Aplin's statement is the fact that on account of the short days, and not having artificial light installed at our premises, our hands have been losing half an hour daily. — Wo are, etc., ROUSE, BLACK AND SON.
