TO-DAY'S PARLIAMENT. ♦ HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. Further petitions were presented in favour of Bible Teading in State schools. The Leader of the Opposition aeked wh.en an opportunity would be given for discussing the report of the Land Commission. Tho Minister for Lands said he would leave it to tho Premier reply. Later in -the sitting, the Premier said he would answer the question on Tuesday. The Premier, in answer to Mr. Herdman, said tho balance-sheet of the State coal-mines was before the Audit Department, and would be presented to Parliament as soon as it was returned to Ministers. The . Lands Committee recommended to the favourable consideration of the Government a petition from a lessee of the Rotokare Domain for compensation for being deprived of his lease under the Rotokara Domain Act. Notice was given by Mr. Herdman to ask the Premier if Imperial payments were subject to audit by the New Zealand Audit Department. (Left sitting.) TO-DAY'S BUSINESS. The House -will be occupied for the whole of the sitting with the Estimates, which are expected to come in for a good deal of criticism.
