Tho Premier has received a roply from Colonel Porter in answer to tho moflsngo sent by Mr. Soddon in respect to Colonel Porter's statement lo tho Poverty JJtiv Hornld, regarding tho inoident in South Africa which led up to tho rorcnt Soddon-Taylor cose. Colonel Porter wired from Tokomaru Bny, East Coast, his message being ns follows : — "\ r our tolegrnm re interview re-ndclrossed hore received. I accept your rebuke, but. trust you will reserve judgment till intorviow is road. 1 am not responsible, for press tolograms. I accepted responsibility of tho interview entirely in tho interests of tho regiment as ofFicor commanding, and should duplnro raising complications."
