. » [BT TELEOKAPH — PEESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, 25th November. Mr. T. E. Taylor informed the Prohibition League to-night that a barrister second only to Mr. A. S. Adams on the colony's licensing law, had given the opinion that the bona fide traveller had ceased to exist. The League should, he said, insist Upon a test case being taken into the- Courts to set the matter at rest.
According to medical opinion at Louisville high heels were the direct cause of the death of Mrs. Blanche Hunter. About a year and a half ago cancer appeared in the lady'a right heel. The doctor warned her against continuing to wear hiuh heels, which accentuated the growth. She persisted, however, and amputation of the log was found necessary, death ensuing some lit.tle time afterwards.
