TITLES AND ARMORIAL BEARINGS. [PRESS ASSOCIATION".] MELBOURNE, 25th November. In the Federal House of Representatives, Mr, King O'Malley (Tasmania) created some amusement by giving notice of motion — " That whereas titles and armorial bearings are subversive of equality and the rights of man, and in order to discourage their vainglorious use in the Commonwealth, an annual license be imposed." He proposed a scale of fees ranging from £70 for "Duke" or "Duchess, to 2s Gd for the title "Honourable," with one or two guineas for armorial bearings.
