"J.A." Consult any of the electrioiana in Wellington. "Query."— There is Waimate, in South Canterbury, 33 miles south-west of Timaru, and Waimate North, 177 miles north of Auckland. Theße are the only two names recognised in the Postal Guide, but as the word means "still water" Waimate has been frequently used as the name of a locality by the Maoris. There is only one Waimate in Canterbury.
