GRAVE DESECRATED. [I"RKSS ASSOCIATION.] CAPKTOWN, 9th September. A sensational en.so of grnvo Desecration has occurred afc Pretoria. Piincoas Christian and her daughter Victoria landed (iL Capetown with tho intention of visiting, on the 22nd inst. , the gravo at Pretoria, of Princo Ohristmn Victor. Yesterday tho authorities discovered that tho grave had been dug into down to tho slab covering tho coflin. Tho deseciators hud apparently been disturbed while digging, and decamped. Messages from Pretoria attrilmto tho outrage to a plot to remove the coflin to tho mountains, and subsequently find it and claim a ransom. Tho outrage is reprobated by nil sections of tho community. PLOT TO STEAL THE COFFIN. AUSTRALIANS ALLEGED TO BE IMPLICATED. (Received September 10, 9.21 a.m.) LONDON, 9th September. Tho Pretoria correspondent of the Daily Express states that the- polioo were- aware that three Australiann in August plotted to steal the Prince's cofflu. Two at tempts wens modo in oho week, tho first effort being kept a secret. The tomb is now guarded. [Prince Christian victor was a son of Prinoo and Princess Christian, and a grandson of the late Queen Victoria. His Highness was a Major on Lord Roberta's staff at Pretoria, and died of onlcric fever on 29th Octover, 1900, aged 33 3-eara.]
