The ground was in faar order, though slight drizzling rain fell occasionally. The attendance numbered about two thousand. Tho giimo wot closely contested throughout, but was uninteresting on tiie whole. First blood w.ac drawn by Manawalni, A. M'Minn placing a fine goal from a murk by Whisker. Tanmaki then livened up, and Hunter, by a clever run, scored 'a try, which Fjpewin ceu>verted. Shortly afwr tho second spell opened, J. Young obtained oaiotlior try for Tarannki, which wus not enlarged. OTAGO v. NORTH OTAGO. OAM'ABU, Bth September. Tho football match between repKesontativo teams of Nosfch Otugo olid Otago was played to-d»y in wet weather. The game resulted in a win iop North Otago by 11 pomto to nil. OTAGO v. WELLINGTON. Tho annual match between Otago and Wellington will bo played at the Athletic Park to-morrow afternoon. The team to represent Wellington will bo finally chosen this afternoon. Wright, Driscoll, and Roberts, who were chosen by tho Committee, for various reasons are unable to piny, nnd JJlaekloclc, Gilchrist, and another yet to bo selected will fill their winces.
