The inter-i»!and mutch, which baa been looked fbrward to throughout the seaDon, is to be played on the Athletic Park to-morrow afternoon. The clubs of both islands will put strong teams into the field, and tho contest should go io make a fine exposition of hockey. ■ Xo settlement of tho dispute between the WeHington Hockey Association and tho managers of the ladies' hockey tournament has yet been arrived at. The Association has refused the tine of the grounds ot Day's Bay to-morrow afternoon for the purpose of opening the tournament, and has allotted the grounds to junior fixtures. The lady players intend making an effort to start thoir games according to their programme, even in defiance of the Association. According to present arrangements, two heats will bo played fa-morrow afternoon, Petono meeting Blenheim, and Aorangi (Wellington) meeting Nelson. Messrs. Falconer and Hjorring will act m referees. Steamers are to lenvo the ferry wharf at 1.16 and 2.30 o'clock. The Nelson players arrived on Wednesday night, and th« Palmerston North team (the Cravens), •which holds the championship, arrived last ovening. The visiting players are to be entertained at a dance at the cjoso of the tournament, next Tuesday week. Mr. Herbert Rawaon again offers trophies for each member of the team whioh wins the championship honours.
