DUNEDIN, 24th August: At a meeting of the City Council tonight it was decid'od to take a vote of the ratepayers on the question of amalgamation with Cavorshanv. Mr. P. D. Matene HamuMinn, a half-caste, was committed for trial at tho ' SVtpreme Court, Napier, on a charge of perjury arising out ctf evidence in a recent assault caso. Bail was allowed. MARTON, This Day. In Chambers this morning, Mr. Stanlord, S.M., refused to sign an application from a licensee in the Wairampft district for a conditional license for Uio Marlon Jockey Club's raco meeting, on tho ground that the applicant was a licensee outwdo of the Manawatu Licensing District.
