<» MR. R. LEE ELECTED. At to-day's meeting of tho Education Board tlio Secretary took tho chair, and announced bknfc he would receive nominations for Chairman, whereupon Mr. Robertson proposed Mr. R. Leo for the | position, pointing out that Mr. Lee's long connection with the Board <is Inspector and member would stand him in I good (Head in carrying out the duties ofv Chairman. This was seconded by Mr. Field, and supported by Mr. Buchanan, who spoke of Mr. Lees abilities to earn- out the dirties, aaid also pointed out that Mr. Loo had leisure time to devote to the BcmwxJ's affairs. An there vrua no other nomination, Mr. Loo was declared elected, and took his seat amidst applause. In returning thanks, Mr. Leo said that he recognised that tho position ho was taking was no sinecure, and ho hoped that ho ojkl tho numbers would work amicably. Ho knew that tlie Board w*« in financial difficulties, and it would be W« »im fco try awl remove them. Tho botte-r equipment of tho schools was aJso a matter flia* hnd been before the Board, and they knew thnt if our education sy«stem was to bo carried out properly tlie schools should bo better equipped, and ho would endeavour to have them so.
