THE POSITION AT SHANGHAI.
ASKOLD AND GROSOVOI. DISARMAMENT DEMANDED. LONDON, 24th August. As the Askold aud the Grosovoi had not complied with tho Taotai'a orders before the expiration of tho time limit, Sir Pelham Warren, nt tho instance of the TaoUi, notified that work in the damaged vessels would have to cease at noon to-day. The Cosmopolitan Dock Company will comply with Sir Polham Warron's request. Tho Taotai to-day officially demanded tho disarmament of both vessels.
