CO-OPERATIVE FREEZING WORKS AT WELLINGTON. [Br TELKon.vrn.] (From Our Special Reporter.) PALMERSTON X., This Day. Tho annual mcuting of tho National Daily Association, waw held this morning at the Agricultural and Pastoral Society's building, Pwlmerston .Xortli. There was v v-eiy lurgo attendance of members. In "hi» a<ldiv«s the Pie.sident (Mr. J. W. Foreman, of Tikorangi) congratulated members on th« large attendance, and referred to the marked improvement in shipping arrangements, resulting in much moro regular arrival of our exports on the London market. The bountiful harvest had compeimted farmers for tho lower prices ruling. Some discussion took place on the question of ateum (.ervices, and tho report and balance-sheet wero adopted. Tho election of officers resulted in the retiring directors, Messrs. A. M'Farlane (Pahiatua) and J. Young (Pahnorston North) being re-elected.. Mr. C. D. Alorpeth (Wellington) was re-elected Auditor. Alteration of Articles of AftxocuUion to nuiko the year end so as to fit in \\ itli the Winter Show were agreed t». The question of erecting co-operative freezing works at Wellington was introduced, as a result of expressions of opinion obtained by tho Chairman. Mr. Harkness, Sacretary of tho Association, detailed tho history of the project, and placed before tho meeting tho caHO of thows who consider tluit the dairy industry should not pay away to private companies the oost of freezing.
